what we believe

Our beliefs and convictions center on Jesus and His role as Lord and Savior.  It is through Jesus that we are saved from sin and have our lives transformed.  These are some of the truths we believe in:

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He was born of a virgin and lived on this earth as a human.  His death on the cross and resurrection on the third day is what reconcile us back to God.  He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins.  (Jn. 1:1-14; Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Matthew 26:28)

All Scripture is inspired by God.  His Word guides us in all we do.  It is the final authority in matters of faith and doctrine.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  We are saved by God's grace through faith.  (Romans 3:21-23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Through repentance, a confession that Jesus is the Christ, and baptism (immersion) into Christ, we can have our sins washed away.  This is our response to God's grace.  We are undeserving of this gift of grace, and can do nothing to earn salvation on our own.  (Romans 6:3-6; Ephesians 2:8; Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21-22)

We receive the gift of the Holy Spirit at the point of baptism.  The Holy Spirit dwells within us and is the guarantee of our salvation.  (Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13-14)

Our mission is to share the message of Jesus with all the world.  The purpose of this mission is to make disciples of all nations.  (Matthew 28:18-20)

Jesus will return one day to take his children to be with him in eternity.  (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
