  • BRYAN MCALISTER

    In 2022, Bryan and his family joined the work in Champions, after ministering for 14 of the last 23 years in Middle Tennessee.  Since 1999 Bryan and his wife Mendy began their work in ministry, serving congregations in Missouri and Tennessee.  In addition to ministry, Bryan served as a full-time Assistant Professor of Behavioral Sciences for Freed-Hardeman University from 2014 until 2022.  He now serves as a full-time Assistant Professor in the School of Education and Human Services for Amridge University.  Bryan and his wife Mendy have been married since 1999 and have four children:  Connor (2003), Kendyl (2006), Kinley (2011), and Carsen (2015).  Bryan is the youngest of two sons, born to Kristie McAlister and the late Robert McAlister of Jonesboro, IL.  Their gift to their sons was to raise them in a faithful Christian home.  Bryan has an MA in Community Counseling (2007) and a PhD in Professional Counseling (2017).  He is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).

    Wes joined the staff as a part time involvement minister in August of 2018.  His chief responsibility being to match the deacon ministries with the desired area of work of each member.  He graduated from Oklahoma Christian in 1977 with a bachelors degree in Accounting.  He is a CPA and worked in industry after graduation from OC, until he retired in September 2016.  He is the oldest son of David and Martha Arnold.  He was married to his wonderful wife Pam for 37 years before she left this earth for her heavenly home in 2012.  He has 3 children and 7 grandchildren.  His daughters Niki and Rebecca attend Champions as well as 3 of his grandchildren Isaac, Jesse and Megan. 

  • JOSEPH CARTWRIGHT

    Joseph joined the staff here at Champions in the Summer of 2022. He is a graduate of Freed Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Science in Bible.  He has been married to his beautiful wife Cassidy since December of 2022.  Joseph works with our youth to help them realize the invaluable worth of being loved by our Heavenly Father, and spreading His love to everyone they come in contact with.

    Jeanie has been the church secretary at Champions since May 1993.  She is a native Texan, born and raised in Marlin, and having lived in Riesel and Burleson before moving to Houston in 1986.  Jeanie and her husband David, have two children (Chad and Kelli).  She says she has been greatly blessed by the love and support of her church family, and has enjoyed the many opportunities to serve God and all who worship at Champions.

    Lisa came to Champions with her family in 1980.  She graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Business and History and later returned for a Secondary Education certification.  While at LCU, she met and married Brent Killough.  Soon after, they returned to the Houston area and have worshiped at Champions ever since.  Lisa taught high school for four years before becoming a mother to Elizabeth, Jonathan and Timothy.  Lisa became director of the Little Champ's Mother's Day Out program in the summer of 2002.

    Ashley, her husband Aaron, and their two dogs, have been helping with youth for over 5 years.  Ashley holds a Bachelors in Business from Lipscomb University and grew up right here at Champions.  Ashley's love for children is unquestionable.  She's worked with Children's Ministers in TN, currently teaches at our Little Champs MDO, and plans awesome events for our kids age 0 through 6th grade.
