We started off the month of April in Lander, WY.  Sunday morning I taught Bible class and preached.  By the first Wednesday of the month we were in Colorado Springs at the Mountain View Church of Christ.  After a few weeks in the Midwest we left for Canada.  Our first Sunday in Beamsville I taught Bible class.  Most of the time in Canada was spent relaxing and visiting family.  We returned to Houston on the 22nd.  We are writing this newsletter from Memphis.  We returned for my graduation.  Sorry for the late publication – but it will be worth the wait …

Many missionaries say that through the preparation process they learned patience.  I do not know if we have learned it, but God sure has been trying to teach us.  After a busy time arraning (and rearranging) our shipping, our container left 6920 Richardson road on Tuesday evening (5-2-06).  Lord willing it will arrive in Port Moresby on June 15th.  From there I will travel to Moresby and arrange to have a container sent to Alotau.

I must tell you at moments I am jealous of the simplicity of Abraham’s move – it seemed a lot less detailed.  I bet he didn’t even have to get a work visa.  Anyways, I know none of you signed up for a sermon ...

Sunday, April 30th was our last Sunday at Champions.  The congregation had a send off service on our behalf.  We feel encouraged after having been prayed over by so many folks in the congregation.  We could not have asked for a more caring overseeing congregation.

First Days in New Guinea:

Many have inquired about our housing situation in New Guinea.  We plan to stay in the home of Les and Loopie Williams while they are on furlough.  During these few months we will be able to secure a place of our own.  It is such a blessing to have this home because it takes a lot of pressure off and gives us the necessary time to purchase our own home.
