Missions

This command given by the Lord is one we take seriously at he Church of Christ in Champions. In an endeavor to go into all the world we are currently involved with several ongoing missions. Please feel free to check out any of our following mission areas:
Foreign Mission Efforts
Singapore
Pence and Janis Dacus now live in College Station, Texas but continue to work with the churches in Singapore and Malaysia to strengthen the leadership and promote the establishment of elders and deacons in every congregation. The Dacus' also work with the Pasir Panjang congregation in a program called "Tentmakers". This program is designed as an outreach into eastern Malaysia and China. One hundred thousand dollars has been raised for this effort and trips are currently being made into China and eastern Malaysia. World Bible School
Several members at the Church of Christ in Champions are involved with World Bible School. Current students are in the African countries of Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda. This is program designed to study one on one by mail correspondence with someone in another country. The studies are sent back and forth with great results. Students are eager to hear the gospel message and respond accordingly.

Truth for Today
The elders here also oversee a work called Truth for Today. Truth for Today is a written preaching tool used worldwide by national preachers to spread the gospel. Nearly 40,000 issues are sent out in English, French, Hindi, Italian, Portugese, Russian, Spanish, Tamil and Telugu to 139 different countries and territories per month. Currently the Truth for Today organization has the capability to translate material into 13 additional languages. Eddie Cloer who has a hardworking staff located in Searcy Arkansas heads up the work.

Brazil
Sascha and Jennifer Terry are missionaries serving in Porto Alegre, Brazil. They are sponsored by the Eastside Church of Christ in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their website is http://www.honorgod.org/terrysinbrazil.
Central America
The Biblical Institute of Central America is a two year bible school that trains local preachers / leaders. The school also provides vocational training. The work in Honduras is overseen by the Belton, Texas Church of Christ and the work in Guatemala is overseen by the Fairmont Peak Church of Christ in Midland, Texas. Mexico
Casa Sonrisa is a Christian children's home in Torreon, Mexico. The home currently has 43 children. The work is overseen by the Westside congregation in Round Rock, Texas. For more information e-mail CasaSonrisa@churchofchristwestside.org.
