Spring 2007 Education Information
March – April - May

“To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” ~I Peter 2:21

Transformation begins with meeting God in His Word. There we learn of His wonderful character, His passion for us, His plan of redemption, and His great love for each of us. Because studying God’s Word is so important, Champions offers Bible classes twice weekly for all ages. Meeting on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, you have an opportunity to choose from a variety of teachers and topics designed to help you grow and strengthen your spiritual walk. As we spend time digging deeply into His truth, we hear His call to be His disciples and open ourselves to dying to self, taking up our cross daily, and following Jesus.

Join us every Sunday morning at 9 a.m. for Bible class.

Adult Bible Classes

Sunday Mornings

Auditorium—Preacher’s Class—Larry Keele

Unity.  Fellowship.  Body.  Family.  All are terms that should apply to the church of our Lord.  How is unity not only obtained, but maintained?  How can we have true fellowship rather than mere friendship.  How can we be one body and a true family?   A study and the implementation of the “One Another” exhortations is a great place to start.  Topics included in this study are “Members one of another,” “Greet One Another,” “Be Devoted One to Another,” “Bear One Another’s Burdens” and others.  This 13 week class will meet in the auditorium.

Fellowship Hall —The Gospel of John—Danny Mize

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall as we walk through the Gospel of John. Rich in encounters with Jesus this video class will walk with the Savior through the pages of the Bible and the landscape of our hearts.

Library —Parenting—Byron Willis

Every parent wants to raise godly children. Come study with us as we learn from our Father how to be better parents.

Young Adults (Upstairs)—Alan Reed

Looking for a place to connect with other young adults? Then this is the class for you. Come join us in study each Sunday morning.

Wednesday Evenings

Auditorium—Look Up, Look Around, Look Out

Each Wednesday evening a special guest speaker will join us as we learn to look for Jesus in every part of our lives.

At the Church of Christ in Champions we are dedicated to purposeful spiritual growth and modeling Jesus for our community. In order to be purposeful about our growth we use the biblical model found in Luke 2:52. The four ways that Jesus grew provide a sound and balanced template for both personal and congregational spiritual growth.

To grow in wisdom we provide opportunities for our members to study God’s word. In order to be like Jesus we must learn what Jesus is like.

To grow in stature we provide a variety of fellowship activities to strengthen and deepen the connections within the body at Champions. In order to be like Jesus we must learn to live like Jesus.

To grow in favor with God we are purposeful in providing worship and devotional experience that deepen our relationship with the Father. In order to be like Jesus we must be able to express our love for the Father.

To grow in favor with men we deliberately look for opportunities to look like Jesus in our community through outreach, evangelism, and service. In order to be like Jesus we must lift Him up.
