Our Elders

Elders are men selected by our congregation based on the qualifications set forth in the scriptures (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9) to shepherd our members. Deacons, ministers, evangelists and teachers serve under the leadership of the elders.

Allen Arnold

Allen became an elder at Champions in January 2010. He and his wife Dixie have three children (Natalie, Jordan and Erin), one grandchild (Kaita), and two sons-in-law (Matt and Jordan). Allen works in the oil and gas industry for ExxonMobil.

Glenn Asher

Glenn is a native Texan who grew up in West Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. Glenn was a pilot in the Air Force. He and his wife Cindy have three children (Jerrod, Jena and Adam). They have two grandchildren (Gianni and Giovanni). Glenn works for Global Energy USA, Inc.

Jim Chitwood

Jim has been a member at Champions since 1989. He has been an elder at Champions since November 1992 having previously served as a deacon at Champions for one year. He and his wife Marcia have two married daughters (Julie and Kathryn), a married son (Scott) and eight grandchildren. Jim formed his own engineering company, Chitwood Engineers, in 1984 and does contract work for major international oil and gas producing companies.

Danny Mize

Danny has been an elder at Champions since November 1992 and had previously served as a deacon at Champions for four years. He and his wife Laura have three daughters (Khristi, Adelle and Ashley), a son (Lanny) and one granddaughter. They came to Champions in 1987.

A. D. became an elder at Champions in January 2010. He and his wife, Golda, have two married daughters (Trinette Kirby and LaTesia Davis) and five grandchildren. A. D. is employed by NCI Steel.

Marvin Trice

Byron Willis

Byron became an elder in January 2010 after serving as a deacon for Champions since 2006. He and his wife, Annette, have four children: Amy, Sarah - married to Jason Jackson, Aaron - married to Lauren, Joshua, and one grandchild. They came to Champions in December 2003.
