About Us

At the church of Christ in Champions, we strive to be:

Current Church of Christ in Champions building…a Christ-oriented people.

Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:10). More than a mere motto, we find these simple words a principle to live by. When Christ is acknowledged as Lord, we are saying that He is our Master, the Ruler of our lives. In such faith and change of life, we get "into Christ" as we are baptized into Him (Romans 6:3, Galatians 3:27). In living this commitment of "Jesus is Lord," we find true fulfillment and purpose in daily living. It is here we find a real meaning for our existence.

…a connected people.

In Christ, Christians are connected to one another. In a real sense, we are family! As healthy families are connected with one another, we help and care for each other because of our relationship in Him (Romans 12:9ff). In this family, we are connected as equals. Someone has well said that the "ground is level at the foot of the cross." In the family of God, no person is greater than any other. In this spiritual family, no race, color, language or nationality is better than any other (Galatians 3:28).

…a concerned people.

We are concerned with those who are hurting and need our help (Galatians 6:10). While we are interested in helping those with physical needs, of even greater importance are those who are in spiritual need. Because of this, we place an importance on sharing the great news of the Gospel with others around us. This news, which has made all the difference in our life, comes from God Himself and must be shared with others in all its simplicity, purity and truth without addition or subtraction (Revelations 22:18-19). We are concerned with sharing that Word both in our local area and abroad.

…Christians.

As we follow the Word of God, we wear the name the disciples of Christ wore in the New Testament – Christians (Acts 11:26).
