Looking...
As you can see from the logo in the top right hand corner of this column, our congregation is emphasizing three things. We are looking “up,” “around,” and “out.” While I hope the meaning of these directions is clear, let me briefly mention them.
As a people, we want to be looking…
…Up — up toward God, toward our relationship and our worship to Him. (In our worship this year, we have specific “prayer meetings” scheduled. We want to help all of us to walk closer to our God!)
…Around — around to our fellow Christians in true fellowship. (We will have special events of fellowship to encourage these “brother to brother and sister to sister” relationships. With our “Cross-Ties program, we are developing relationships that cross age barriers as well.)
…Out — outreach to those who need to hear the Gospel. (This in particular is our emphasis this year—to look out to the lost of our community and world. We want to do an even better job in sharing the story of Jesus Christ and His amazing sacrifice for all of mankind.)
While these are congregational directions...let me ask you as an individual, how is your “look?”
The only way the Champions family can truly have these as points of emphasis is if we as individual members of Champions focus in these directions! Let me challenge you…take note of the directions in which you are Looking…!

TNT! (Tuesday Nights Together)
One of the exciting new projects for 2008 will be TNT or Tuesday Nights Together. We will devote the first Tuesday evening of each month to this program (except in January, it will be Jan. 9). These evenings will begin with a meal at 6:30 that will be followed by a number of different scheduled activities and areas of service. Through the course of the year, there will be several special events. Let me just mention a few of them at this time:
Cross-Ties will provide opportunities to get varying age groups to grow in relationship with one another. There will be various activities to draw our different generations to one another in a closer walk with each other and the Lord. (Obviously, that is the reason for the name Cross-Ties.)
Other activities through the months such as building maintenance, car care for our senior members, WBS, card ministry, and—in the Fall, weekly Neighborhood Bible Studies are just a few of the other projects with which we will be involved. As the saying goes, “There will be something for everyone!” Mark your calendars—First Tuesdays in 2006—TNT!
